Hollandse Pepernoten: Dutch Spiced Biscuits

Get ready for Sinterklaas by baking your very own Dutch pepernoten!

Hollandse Pepernoten

250 g of self raising flour
150 g of butter
125 g of brown sugar
1 tbsp mixed (speculaas) spices
4 tbsp milk

Preheat the oven to 160 ° C and line a baking tray with grease proof paper. Place the butter, sugar, spices and self raising flour into a mixing bowl and knead thoroughly. Next, add the milk and salt to taste and create a smooth dough. Roll the dough into small balls, place them on the baking tray and flatten them slightly with your hand. Bake for 15 to 20 minutes until golden brown and allow to cool before serving.
